For comics fans the world over, Jack Kirby needs no introduction. He, along with others like Joe Simon, Steve Ditko and Stan Lee, revolutionised the comic book medium, with Kirby's influence in particular having been indelibly felt across a wide variety of different mediums, none more recently than the MCU itself.

Needless to say, he was instrumental in the creation of Thor, and fans especially have noted how the upcoming Ragnarok has embodied the warmth and fantasy of the artist's original stint on the OG Marvel comic. In light of this, and the fact that yesterday would've been Kirby's 100th birthday, Marvel have just revealed a new logo for the upcoming Thor sequel, made in the original Kirby mould.

Writers and artists the world over have been paying tribute to Kirby this past weekend, with Evangeline Lilly in particular having yesterday referenced the King with the reveal of her Wasp suit for the upcoming sequel to 2015's Ant-Man.

It really is difficult to overstate just how marked an impact the writer/artist had on the industry during his years involved, with stints at both Marvel and DC having birthed a vast bibliography of characters, stories and creations for fans the world over to enjoy. He was a titan of the medium through and through, and it's simply wonderful to see him getting recognised as such.
