Venom 2: 10 Delightful Trailer Details & What Fans Think They Mean
PLEASE give us more of Venom and Eddie being an absolute mess.
When the first Venom film came out it was panned by critics, and received only a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Casual viewers, on the other hand, loved the film and gave it an 81% audience score. They put their money where their mouths were as well, and with a production budget of 100 million, the flick made back around 850 million at the box office. In other words, it was a huge hit.
Sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage was delayed due to COVID, but the trailer finally dropped in May 2021. Unsurprisingly, across the past month fans have been taking to the internet to discuss their theories about the upcoming film, diving into every small detail in the trailer.
With a vibrant soundtrack, the trailer introduces us to the main cast: Eddie Brock, Venom (his alien symbiote), Cletus Kasady (the serial killer Eddie has been interviewing), Mulligan (a police detective who appears to be looking for Cletus's victims), Anne Weying (Eddie's ex), and Shriek (a current resident at Ravencroft - an institute for the criminal insane).

10. Stan Lee Easter Egg
Stan Lee was the face of Marvel for decades and helped co-create plenty of beloved comic characters in the nearly 60 years he worked for the company. Lee passed away in 2018, but his cameos in Marvel films had become a kind of seal of approval. In 2000, the original X-Men movie featured him in a cameo, and he continued to appear in Marvel films for close to twenty years.
In Venom (2018), Stan Lee is a dog-walker in a cameo near the end of the film. In 2019, Stan Lee made two last posthumous appearances in Captain Marvel and in Avengers: Endgame, and it seemed that his cameos would probably be over ... which is why it was a surprise to see his face in the new Venom trailer.
While walking into Mrs. Chen's convenience store, Venom waves at the friendly owner, and then whips a tentacle forward to straighten a magazine with Stan Lee's face on it.
The homage to Stan Lee is a nice touch, and makes viewers hopeful that the film will be full of surprises that have the same creative spark Stan Lee brought to Marvel.
