The Movie: The film about a kid who ends up in the movies was unfortunately a low point for Arnie. Its a nice idea to think that there is a Who Framed Roger Rabbit existence where all your favourite movie characters live and are real and unaware that they are fake, but this film is all a bit meh. Yeah its fun to play with all the things wed come to expect from Schwarzenegger and action movies in general, but this doesnt pull them off in a good way. The scene where the kid Danny highlights who predictable Schwarzenegger is perhaps the laziest use of the phrase Ill be back in one of his movies. Its literally like they couldnt think of a good context for him to say the line and pull of the joke that he always says it. Charles Dance plays the villain, but doesnt live up to his performance in Eddie Murphys The Golden Child, and as always the success of the fight relies on both competitors being on form. In this case neither were. What It Says About You: You dont really care that this film has Arnold Schwarzenegger in it, you just like movies that break down the forth wall and are self referential. You probably like this movie ironically and think Schwarzenegger should have been in a full length film version of William Shakespeares Hamlet just to show the world he cant act.
