Though Star-Lord and company's much-awaited second outing didn't quite reach the highs of their ground-breaking 2014 original, it still easily won over the majority of critics, and is largely regarded as one of the best releases of the summer so far.

However, in a move just about nobody could've anticipated a month ago, it seems that even the presences of Kurt Russell and Baby Groot weren't enough to beat out the allure of Diana Prince punching Germans in the face.

Guardians will almost certainly win the box office battle, but the critical war between the two is already over.
