20 Movie Roles That Were Insanely Miscast

2. Emilia Clarke - Terminator Genisys

Recasting one of cinema's all-time most iconic heroines was a thankless task from the jump, but many expressed intense doubt the moment that Emilia Clarke was announced to play a younger iteration of Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys.

Though Clarke is an acclaimed, talented actress without question, many fans questioned her ability to convince in the role of a battle-hardened survivor.

Her soft, cherubic features were in stark contrast to Linda Hamilton's muscular, intense depiction of the character, and Clark's filmography has generally proven her more adept at playing charming, bubbly characters.

Granted, the script gave her desperately little to work with and she's hardly the only miscast actor in the film - Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese being the other egregious one - but in this case it was thunderously obvious Clarke was primarily cast because she was a high-profile actress in a hit TV show.

For Clarke's part, she's spoken openly about the shoot being incredibly difficult, even saying that the film "should never have happened."
