20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck

12. In the Blink of an Eye

In the Blink of an Eye is another unfortunate example of a film that spent so long malingering in post-production that many grew to suspect something was majorly off with it.

Though director Andrew Stanton has an excellent track record with Pixar, having helmed the likes of Finding Nemo and WALL-E, his single prior live-action effort, John Carter, didn't fare nearly as well.

Couple that with the fact that his new sci-fi drama spent more than two and a half years in post-production, ahead of a weirdly low-key Sundance premiere which wrought few enthusiastic reviews, and it was clear that this one just didn't come together in the end, sadly.

There's certainly ambition to spare here, and the performances from Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones, and Daveed Diggs are never less than solid, but Stanton's film ultimately struggles to resolve into a compelling and emotionally gratifying whole.

With a mere 94-minute runtime, it's tough not to feel like a whole ton of material was left on the cutting room floor.
