4. It's Better Than The First Trailer
The big issue with the first trailer for Dark Phoenix was that it was boring. Even with such an important storyline behind it, it failed to capture anything like the right levels of excitement, drama, or emotion. It was dull, it was flat and it was undoubtedly a misstep.
It seems that the lukewarm (and worse) reaction to that trailer may have been taken into account, at least, though, because this is a major improvement. It starts with emotion (okay, it might be too big a spoiler to get there, but it's right to aim to capture something the first teaser missed), there's a lot more action and there's at least some attempt to let the performances shine.
if we're taking this as pass/fail based solely on what came before, then it's definitely an upturn.
