10 Amazing Video Game Rewards Stupidly Locked Behind 100% Completion

10. Hero Weapons - Splatoon 2

Those who got Splatoon 2 back in 2017 obviously didn't do it for its single-player campaign. The game's story mode was rather lackluster, and it mostly served as training for the multiplayer mode. However, one of the incentives the players had for finishing the campaign were the special cosmetic rewards called "Hero Gear" they got at the end. The only problem was that in order to get all of them, you had to beat the story mode, several times!

After completing the story for the first time, the player received parts of the Hero outfit. If someone wanted to get a weapon to go with it in multiplayer mode, they had to beat all of the story levels again, using only that one weapon. Combine this with the fact that there are nine weapons total, and all of a sudden, if you're looking to collect the full Hero set, you have to beat the same, repetitious stages ten times!

Luckily, for those obsessed with collecting everything, Splatoon 3 seems to have learned from this experience. Nowadays, you just need to beat the story mode once in order to get the full set.
