10 Best Bows And Arrows In Video Game History

1. Skyrim

There are no less than thirty types of bows circulating Skyrim€™s dastardly dungeons several of them only found in very specific locations. Bethesda didn€™t just reskin the same asset over and over and slap an Elder Scrollsian name on each one. Like all the weapons in Skyrim, these are hand-sculpted, with tessellation and depth that show of their ancient Tamriel designs in all their 3D glory, but aesthetic authenticity isn€™t the only thing they have going for them. We were partial to the drainspell bow. As a ghostly, transparent spirit-weapon, it weighed next to nothing, but shot with all the power of your average, upper mid-range bow. Pound for pound, this option was a beast. Careful - if you put it on a weapon rack, it might fall through, but we don€™t think that€™s a glitch. It is a ghost bow. In The Elder Scrolls games, the weight of each bow determines the amount of damage they deal. A heavier bow made of dragon bone might take a Saber Cat out in one shot, but a lighter and faster Zephyr will obviously allow you more chances to fire in a shorter period of time. You can of course enchant your bows, drink stat-boosting potions and generally upgrade your archery skill, each yielding unique advantages in combat. We€™ll never forget blasting reanimated skeletons apart, with slow-motion killcams and scattering bone-physics, nabbing our bloody arrows from fresh corpses, getting low for a little extra power, and of course€ shooting a dragon out of the sky.
