10 Cruelest Things We All Did In Famous Video Games
2. Syphon Filter's Air Taser
Coming out at the height of the stealth craze caused by the brilliant Metal Gear Solid, Syphon Filter was touted as something of a clone but in fact offered a very different gaming experience that was more akin to running and gunning at times, rather than straight ahead sneaking.
It also gave players the Air Taser, which could be used to conduct non-lethal takedowns on enemies. Alternatively it could be used to such an extent that the enemy gets set on fire and screams a horrible wail of pain as they eventually die while Gabe casually looks on.
Granted, these enemies are all trying to kill you, but there is something especially cruel about using a weapon that kills in such an odd and painful way, so of course many a Syphon Filter player ended up using the Air Taser almost exclusively once they found out about its potential.
There is something deeply satisfying - but no doubt cruel - about being able to plug a guy with the taser from a distance and watching him explode in flames, often in front of his friends and comrades who have no idea what on earth just happened.
