Sonic Colours was possibly the best Sonic effort of the last generation and was a largely worthwhile purchase. But back in 2010 the chances of that being the case weren't exactly high. In fact, most people who pre-ordered a Sonic game would have been looked upon as foolish dreamers. Sega's track record with the franchise was very poor. You would think then that Sega would come up with an extra special incentive to place your bets. Well...they gave us novelty hats. Yes, another excellent GameStop entry. The reason gamers were expected to lock in their pre-orders early was a bizarre hat in the shape of Sonic the Hedgehog's trademark hair. Can you really imagine walking around with one of these ridiculous things on? They're completely trivial.
