Talk about trying to have your cyber-cake and eating it.

After the successful franchise reboot in Human Revolution, Square Enix tried to make lighting strike with its follow up. What followed that was an absolute tyre fire of a pre-order system, confusing reward tiers, and an end product that felt more like a glorified expansion pack than sequel.

Seriously, it had one boss fight.

So it was inevitable for the ire to come when fans had forked out full price for a much shorter experience than its predecessor. In retrospect, now that the damage is done, it's actually a decent follow up.

Expanding more on the man/machine conflict, Adam "I Never Asked For This" Jensen's coming to terms with his modified moveset, and the shadow forces that manipulate behind the scenes.

Considering that it's been given away with PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass, as well as being cheap as chips, maybe it's worth a revisit to the cyberpunk world of Deus Ex before CD Projekt Red drop their big'un.
