10 Legendary Games Nintendo Must Bring To Mobile Phones

10. Earthbound

On the surface, the surreal adventures of Ness and his friends may not seem like the best fit for the traditionally casual mobile market, but there€™s no reason smartphones should be limited to puzzle games. Square Enix has already shown that there is a market for RPGs on mobile devices with the release of Final Fantasy VII, and Nintendo could look to build similarly on the growth of more niche genres. Earthbound€™s turn-based combat system should be easy to implement with touch screen controls too - although you want to watch out for the game€™s psychedelic visuals causing bouts of dizziness on the morning commute. Earthbound has developed a dedicated fanbase, partly helped by Ness's appearance in Super Smash Bros, but also as a result of the same wacky features that were initially criticised. Anyone who's experienced the warped alternate reality in Moonside knows that although Earthbound may look like a kid's game there's some darkness beneath the surface too. With the game also receiving a Wii U virtual console release not that long ago, a mobile version could be a great way of get more gamers to experience this cult classic.
