10 Rarest Sega Mega Drive & Genesis Games Ever

8. Twinkle Tale

A fast-paced, magic-themed run-and-gun shooter - sounds great, right? Twinkle Tale was just such a game, pitting you in the role of a magician blasting her through diverse, top-down levels in a fantasy world. It plays similarly to a shmup, but the magical theme and combat against zombies, griffins and other fantastical creatures feels much more imaginative than taking on waves of impersonal aircraft. Twinkle Tale was initially only released in Japan, although the translation group M.I.J.E.T. released a patch translating the Twinkle Tale ROM to English. Of course, you need to own the original version of Twinkle Tale if you want to legally download the ROM, which may not be easy given its rarity and the fact that it costs over $300.
