10 Things Ubisoft Wants You To Forget

1. The Time They Managed To Mess Up Tetris

Ubisoft

Although Ubisoft managed to completely screw up every one of their releases in 2014, the most baffling one was Tetris Unlimited. A game almost as old as the medium itself, the block-collecting puzzler is so good because its so simple. Developers have been recreating it for decades without a hitch, so you'd imagine it would take someone seriously trying to sabotage themselves to mess it up.

Of course, Ubisoft did just that.

The title had a few new bells and whistles, including time trials, lives and high scores, yet shipped with a myriad of problems. First up was the frame rate: yep, somehow, the developers managed to make a game as low-intensive as this stutter and lag.

Combined with online bugs, glitches and even menus that lagged when you scrolled through them, the title bafflingly barely functioned at all for months after it released. Hell, for a time the shapes didn't even align with the space the game was telling you they were supposed to go.

It's even worse considering the release was made in part to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the franchise. Way to crap all over its legacy, Ubi.
