6. Online Passes

Used game sales these days seem to be under attack. The only reason being so is that when you buy used from a game store the company that made the game doesn't get any money. This angers them so much despite the fact that it had previously been bought at full price at one time. So the companies got the genius idea to restrict you from playing online unless you buy new or pay 15 dollars for a pass.

Their main goal is to stifle used sales but it angers the consumer. If I go to a game retailer and buy the latest title used for 45 dollars used I feel like I saved money. However, the major disappointment I overlooked was an online pass which I now must buy for 15 dollars adding to be the total of a new game. This may seem fair to some but the company already made 60 dollars off the original purchase and depending on how many times the game is resold they get an extra 15 dollars per person.

So overall they receive money from the same game over and over. This trend luckily hasn't become very popular and only a few publishers have added online passes. So the next time you buy an online pass remember you probably aren't the first and won't be the last.
