10 Upcoming Xbox One Indie Games That'll Make PS4 Owners Jealous

2. Superhot

Release date: Q4 2015 Far from being yet another first-person shooter, Superhot is set in a minimal world that seems to have been completely coated in white paint, apart from the red enemies and bullet trails - which are a crucial element of the game. The game relies on a unique time-bending mechanic. When you're standing still, time moves in super slow-motion. It's only when you move that it speeds up to a normal pace. This means that when an enemy fires a gun, the bullet only travels when you move, so you can move to the side and watch it fly through the air to the spot where you were standing a second ago. This makes it sound easy to avoid taking a hit, but it quickly ramps up in intensity, and it only takes one shot for you to go down. It looks gorgeous, and the gameplay looks like a kind of fusion between F.E.A.R and Braid, with you feeling like a certifiable badass when you dodge a bullet, shoot an enemy, grab his gun from the air while it's falling, then shatter another enemy into a thousand glassy pieces. Who said that the first-person shooter genre is going stale?
