10 Upcoming Xbox One Indie Games That'll Make PS4 Owners Jealous

9. Cuphead

Release date: 2016 This platformer, inspired by Disney cartoons of the 1930s, looks absolutely joyous, making us nostalgic for a time before we were alive, and yet one which anyone who's watch old-school Disney movies can relate to. The grainy cinema-screen aesthetic and the hand-drawn animations and backgrounds look like nothing we've quite seen in games before, and is likely to win people over with its presentation alone. But don't start thinking that this is some cude-and-cuddly 2D platformer just because of its style. The gameplay looks relentless, with a focus on boss battles and fast-paced running-and-gunning. Intriguingly, there are branching pathways in the game, meaning that you may fight different bosses depending on how you play through the game. A second player can also join the action as Cuphead's buddy Mugman, making it a great option for people looking for some co-op fun. The last few years have been filled with great 2D platformers, and the early signs suggest Cuphead could soon join their ranks.
