What a storied and monolithically naff course Mass Effect has been on. After two stupidly good games we got the butchered-by-EA finale; one segmented into multiple DLC components that even locked off a character essential to the story behind a paywall.

Notably, fans were beyond p*ssed, getting EA labelled the Worst Company in America for their efforts, and putting Mass Effect on ice for around half a decade.

To revitalise the series and hopefully inject some new blood - or just to hand it off to another team that would cost less to maintain - Mass Effect as a franchise was given to the multiplayer contingent of Mass Effect 3, Bioware Montreal.

Due to a range of issues stemming from developer infighting to once again, mismanagement of assets, funds and time, Andromeda was in no fit state to be seen by the public. And yet... we did.

The gifs and glitches from the EA early access pass are now legendary, singlehandedly ruining the game's reputation before it had really began to walk.

Though as we would immediately see from those walking animations, maybe it should've just stayed down in the first place.
