10 Video Game TV Shows HBO Should Make After The Last Of Us

3. Bioshock

Fans have clamored for a Bioshock live-action adaptation for years, and it's easy to understand why. The world of Bioshock is impeccably-crafted and intricate, offering so much depth and history that could only ever be teased in the games themselves. But then when you consider the superb main story and the immediately iconic characters within it, you understand why many of the game's fascinating tales remain largely unexplored, outside of a few audio diaries.

That's where a Bioshock show on HBO could come in. Don't get me wrong, even if the show was a straight-up adaptation of Jack's deep dive into Rapture to face off against Andrew Ryan and/or Booker's quest to keep Elizabeth safe in the floating city of Colombia, many would be more than satisfied.

However, the potential cost of doing a full-on re-imagining of the game series is what has held it back so far. Therefore, the show could have a more modest opening, perhaps an exploration of Rapture before its collapse? Examine the hopefulness that swept its denizens, as well as the mistakes that led to the society's downfall.

If it's successful enough, then you can start getting into the higher-budgeted action with the Big Daddies and Songbirds. If not, then a continued examination of this world and its reliance on 'American Dream' ideals would be terrifically biting commentary-heavy drama, once again fitting like a glove within HBO's catalog.
