10 Video Games That Only Work ONCE

3. Resident Evil 3 (2020)

The Resident Evil games are no stranger to repetition, and not just in the plots. Most of, if not all of them, encourage multiple playthroughs to unlock in-game items and the like. And for the most part, it is worth it.

Pitchforks were already out for the Resident Evil 2 remake which, whilst an amazing take, cut out and changed some things. So Capcom, in their infinite wisdom, doubled down on the Resident Evil 3 remake, making for a more "streamlined" experience.

Which, on first playthrough, is great. The new Nemesis is a nimble brute, not to mention the zombies he makes into his tentacled protegees. It follows the more action-focused gameplay of the original, that's for sure.

But when it's done, there's no real incentive outside of trophies/achievements to go through it again.

The Nemesis jump scares are way too scripted to have a lasting effect, the quick time events just as formulaic. And for those hoping for a visit to the seemingly-cut Clock Tower section on a subsequent run through?

Forget it, that's gone.

Play it once, because it's great, but it does not warrant a few runs through.
