10 Video Games Whose BEST Versions Are On Switch
10. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove
Even though Shovel Knight was pretty short, the award-winning retro platformer captured the hearts of gamers. With the audience craving more content, Yacht Club Games released expansions for the spade-swinging side-scroller including Plague of Shadows, Spectre of Torment, and King of Cards. And these campaigns don't just consist of an extra stage or two. Some of them are so full of content, you could classify them as separate games.
As Shovel Knight was ported onto every console under the Sun, it was only a matter of time before it found its way onto the Switch. Because of the popularity of the game, Nintendo could have just ported the original Shovel Knight and called it a day.
Instead, Nintendo's version was released as Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove. The subtitle was apt since this port included the original game as well as all the additional campaigns. It also has amiibo functionality, which offers new features including bonus stages and unlocking a co-op multiplayer.
Even if you have played every version, Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove is absolutely worth a revisit due to convenient portability of the Switch and the exclusive content.
