If you're going to make a game that models human behaviour, it's best to give us an AI that is somewhat intelligent. I'm not asking for every sim to have their brain modelled after Einstein, but I would like a sim that understands that if they keep piling rubbish in front of a burning fire it may burst into flames. When you're just hankering to drain the snake and the loo's taken, a normal human being doesn't just burst into tears and wet the floor. Even if they did, they'd still mop the floor before going off to work yet for some reason the sims in every game tend to ignore said puddle and then complain when it's still there. It's not just personal hygiene though that's the problem, it's pretty much everything in the game. When I've made a house for Mr and Mrs Smith, I expect them to sleep in the same bed I mean they just bought a house it's not a loveless marriage....yet. However this never seems to be the case, night after night they're both sleeping in different beds and I don't mean separate I mean one night in the four-poster, the next night in the bunk bed. My point is, in games like The Sims the AI does seem to be a tad silly but I wouldn't want them any other way, it would hit too close to home. I mean can you see the absurdity in someone ensuring their house is in top tip shape and their sims are squeaky clean, yet they're sitting at their computer in 3 day old underwear within a pizza box fort.
