10 Ways Video Game Worlds Are Nothing Like Reality
4. Ignore Physics, Grapple A Jet

Many games try to incorporate physics engines into their games that are as close to real life as possible, GTA4 tried this and implemented it very well but it seems other games ignore it completely. Some games include gravity whereas others ignore it completely, it seems we can have massive knife fights 20,000 feet in the air with gravity only coming into play when said fight is over. Whilst I was playing Just Cause 2 I noticed that I could hook onto a jet and ride it for a while in the air, it makes the game fun of course and almost nothing like real life. Then again, who wants to be crippled by the simple rules of physics? Do you really want to have to walk up stairs or fight an enemy outside in the playground? God no, I want to use portals to move around and fight a giant 3 headed dragon at 35,000 feet. When I'm driving a car and hit a wall after being chased by the police, I don't want to go smashing through the window I want to bounce off it and carry on with my high-speed chase. The theories and rules that govern are world may be fun to implement into a game, but we'd much rather go without them.
