6. South Park: The Fractured But Whole

The product of various delays, scope-changes and assumedly, mass joke rewrites, The Fractured But Whole has always aimed to be on the bleeding edge of pop culture - yet that style of quickfire turnaround doesn't work in game development.

Instead, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have assumedly been the ones pushing South Park further and further back, its original release date being Dec. 6th 2016.

Gameplay-wise we've seen such brilliantly 'South Park' things as a difficulty slider directly influencing your race and how characters will talk to you, whilst turn-based gameplay will now allow you to position yourself for more powerful moves in battle.

Mostly down to the game's shtick being a riff on 'superhero culture' and the ongoing silver screen fascinating with all things spandex-clad, here's hoping The Fractured But Whole still has something worthwhile to say.
