1. Still Falling For That Old Trick- Metal Gear Solid V
Once you get the enemies in the Phantom Pain into all-out gun combat, they can be pretty formidable foes, but after all these years they're still falling for the same ridiculous tricks that have been getting them killed since the original Metal Gear Solid. Kojima is great at making fun of the MGS series' own gaminess, and loves a bit of self-referencing. The fact that Snake can do what he does in the above GIF is a nod to the series' history of guards being unsuspicious of cardboard boxes lying around in the most unlikely places, and their inability to resist gawping at images of semi-naked women. Yes, it's completely stupid, but Phantom Pain's combination of technical brilliance, great game design, and utter absurdity is why we all love the Metal Gear Solid series, is it not?
