7. Final Fantasy XIV's Ultimate Weapon Battle Theme
Ah. I can hear the gasps of breath now. "You placed a theme from 14 higher than "Dancing Mad"!? You're mad!" Final Fantasy 14 was and is a dreadful game, however the much publicised return of Nobuo Uematsu to the team brought one small salvation in a stellar set of songs for this game. At the head of these was the theme played during the battle against recurring super-boss Ultima Weapon. A hypnotic symphony of choir chanting takes it's sweet time in lulling the mind into a state of peaceful bliss before the sensation of bass-loaded percussion and a tidal wave of orchestral backing explodes into our conscious being, mind binaurally set into motion with the set of Samba-rhythm Cuica's offsetting the chorus of vocals that continue to sweep through the song. In short, it's fantastic. Give it a listen before you judge anything. Then complain at me for putting it higher than "Dancing Mad"!
