13 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2014

5. The Crew

Though it might seem a tad unfair to include a game that isn't even released in most countries yet, and will take a few days for critics and gamers to form a true opinion on, anyone who has played any of the The Crew's Betas knows that it's an absolute bust. Combine this with the fact that press only received their review copies of the game today, and it doesn't exactly sound like Ubisoft are particularly confident in their product. As they probably shouldn't be, because not only does The Crew look like an old-gen game, it brings absolutely nothing new to the table other than its admittedly impressive coast-to-coast, scaled-down map of the U.S. The poor excuse for a story is lame, the voice-overs suck, the driving mechanics have been weirdly floaty in every version of the Beta, and there's just absolutely nothing here that emphasises the thrill of the chase over a weird, oppressive monotony. If the game manages to average a Metacritic of more than 65, it will be a God-given miracle (or probably a case of game journalists again being far too lenient).
