13 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2014

4. Halo: The Master Chief Collection

On paper, Halo: The Master Chief Collection should have decisively been one of the best games of the year, an accolade it would have earned on the basis of HD Halo 2 multiplayer alone. The fanfare surrounding this huge compendium, however, has been dampened considerably by infuriating connectivity issues which have plagued online matchmaking since release day, combined with a ludicrous number of glitches which still haven't been fixed. Though 343 Industries did offer a genuine-sounding apology for the issues, it fell mostly on deaf ears because gamers are fed up of hearing devs say "our internal server testing didn't anticipate these problems". It's a poor excuse and simply demonstrates awful planning for what they knew would be an immensely popular release. Might The Master Chief Collection be worth buying some time in the foreseeable future? Absolutely. At the moment? Totally not.
