13 Most Disappointing Video Games Of 2014

3. Assassin's Creed: Unity

Ubisoft strikes again with the game that stunk up November, Assassin's Creed: Unity. The title first stirred up negative publicity for Ubisoft when they announced a review embargo which lifted 12 hours after the game had already been released, and unsurprisingly, this is because they knew that they were releasing a sub-par product. Unity's launch was riddled with technical issues, such as players constantly falling through the map, a mysterious bug which caused characters' facial models to disappear (pictured on the first page), and frame-rate issues which rendered the PC version of the game unplayable on a high number of machines. In addition, despite a gorgeous French Revolution-era Paris providing much of the setting, the characters and premise are arguably the weakest the franchise has yet seen. With its wealth of technical hiccups to boot, this feels like an Alpha copy of a game several months away from completion. Terrible.
