13 Most Anticipated 2021 Video Games Ranked - Did They Live Up To The Hype?
3. Halo Infinite
Holy hell they actually did it! After two less-than-stellar entries in the Halo canon, Halo Infinite saw 343 Industries finally live up to the legacy of Bungie, Halo's original developers.
Halo Infinite is simply fun - a dizzyingly vast sandbox filled with toys to play with that lets you create your own stories of skill, valour and laugh-out-loud stupidity. Whether you're single-handedly conquering a fortress or driving a jeep full of screaming marines into the abyss, Infinite is determined to make sure you're having a good time.
Everything about this game has been engineered to make sure the player is enjoying themselves. Quick loadtimes and generous checkpoints encourage you to dive straight back into the action, and the game's wicked sense of humour is apparent in every firefight. (Turns out those Grunts who have been suicide-bombing the Chief all these years weren't terrifying zealots - they just forgot how to disarm their grenades).
We're nearing the end of this entry, but there's still so much more to tell you! The combat-evolving grappling hook, the generous upgrade system, the greatest explosive barrels ever put in any game ever...
After all the delays, bad press and Craig, 343 pulled off the impossible and made arguably the best Halo yet. Let's hope they don't finish the fight anytime soon.
