11. No Full Character Transfers - Destiny 2

Bungie

Destiny originally hit stores in 2014 with a promise from Bungie that it would support a "ten-year model", providing content to allow players to nurture their characters over that period.

However, rumours have persisted over recent months that this year's sequel won't allow players to fully transfer their characters to the new game if at all, which has naturally caused many fans to be concerned.

Considering how much time people have invested in their characters, this could put a major dent in the appeal of a sequel.

How Likely Is It?: Bungie recently confirmed that your base character will in fact transfer over to the new game, but unfortunately "power, possessions and Eververse-related items and currency" will not, presumably referring to light levels, armour, weapons and so on.

Bungie also stated that "class, race, gender, face, hair, and marking selections" will only transfer for players who have reached Level 20 and defeated the game's final story mission, The Black Garden.

It's a bizarre strategy moving forward, a weird compromise that will disappoint many fans, but knowing how loyal Destiny's player-base is, they'll probably keep playing regardless. How badly it ultimately impacts the game will depend upon what Bungie does to mitigate player frustration. 6/10
