15 Best Moments In The Uncharted Series

6. Elena And Nate's Falling Out (A Thief's End)

For a good amount of Uncharted 4, series-long character Elena isn't involved in the plot at all. It makes sense in the context of the story, after all she has no idea where Nate really is after he lied to her about working away on an off-shore job, but this extended set-up only makes her eventual return that bit more powerful.

And the moment Elena finds out about Nate's lie and returns to the story is just as heartbreaking as you'd expect.

The performances here are perhaps the best of the entire series, and you feel genuinely torn apart seeing these two characters you've spent so much time with at their lowest emotional points. Likewise the animation on show is phenomenal, with every subtle gesture and Elena's gradual inability to hold back the tears working to sell this unbelievably moving scene.

As a result, what's essentially a lovers tiff is given great resonance due to history of these characters; you know how many times Nate has pulled this trick, and you know that this might be the final straw for one of gaming's greatest couples.
