6. If You Shoot Enough Things, You Can Eventually Learn About Science
There aren't that many universities left in the wasteland. If you want to learn the sciences, the Followers of the Apocalypse are about the only option you have. Unfortunately, they refuse to give any classes to player characters. Thankfully, this isn't a problem, as science isn't something for which you necessarily need a proper education. Real, hardcore science is best learnt on the mean streets of L.A. or D.C., not in some "classroom". In the wondrous world of Fallout, reading educational material can give you a boost in your scientific endeavours, but most of your knowledge will come from shooting people and doing odd jobs to gain experience and level up. Real world experience is way more important than book learning. Forget about applying for college or "studying". If you want a job as an engineer, just walk around and discover new places. If you're looking to be an expert in computer technology, deliver packages for people, you'll figure it out. If all else fails, going on a murderous rampage should be enough to earn that medical degree.
