5. Being Good At English Makes You A Good Hacker

With all those science skills you picked up from shooting scorpions, you'll be ready to hack a few computers and access valuable information and loot across the wastes. Within the recent Fallout titles the "Science" skill is really the "English language" skill for the most part. Hacking isn't really about scientific prowess, it's about being able to solve word puzzles. When you try to hack a terminal in Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas, you'll be shown a hacking screen in which the computer asks you to guess the password and tells you how close you are when you guess incorrectly. This is truly an effective security system. Very little technical knowledge is involved in the process of hacking. There's no need to worry about things like firewalls and back doors, all you really need to make it as a hacker is a strong grasp on the English language and high tolerance for terrible minigames.
