15 Predictions For 2015's Biggest Video Games

11. Mad Max Flops

When discussing the upcoming Mad Max video game from Avalanche Studios (Just Cause), one word comes to mind: awkward. With a new Tom Hardy-starring Mad Max movie coming out next summer, it has to be a tie-in, right? Wrong. Rather than basing the game even loosely on the movie, this is a seemingly non-descript, non-canon game based on some random exploits of the title character. While that still could make for a fun time, the gameplay clips shown off so far don't instill us with much hope. For starters, for a game based on such a visually rich franchise, the graphics are decidedly average, and it looks incredibly generic gameplay-wise, like any other shooter which also allows you to drive around. Given that Mad Max hasn't been a big deal since 1985's Beyond Thunderdome, Avalanche would be smart to release the game once Fury Road has hit cinemas, as it might net them a few more sales. Otherwise, prospects are relatively grim for this one.
