It's close to a year since Microsoft's Xbox One finally hit stores, and though the console has lagged in sales compared to its major rival the PS4 and has yet to eclipse the Wii U's disappointing sales figures, it's a console absolutely loaded with promise for the next 12 months. Many expect that the Xbox One will follow the same trajectory as the PS3, getting off to a slow start before finding its niche with a steady stream of great exclusives which make it a fine rival to the PS4. So, what should be expected from the Xbox One for the foreseeable future? Microsoft's deep pockets have allowed for a few timed exclusives, which is always a great way to sell a console, and beyond that, a greater focus on indie titles (a market the PS4 has pretty decisively cornered so far), as well as compelling new IPs and new entries into classic franchises. If just half of these games live up to their potential, they should help give the console a solid boost sales-wise and help its reach its potential. How these games will compete with the PS4's upcoming console exclusives remains to be seen, though the potential is certainly great, so hopefully they won't disappoint.
