Release Date: Fall 2015. The Buzz: The Xbox One's first meeting with the Halo franchise, where Master Chief goes missing and the player is able to control not just Chief but also a new character, Spartan Locke. And of course, the ever-popular multiplayer suite will be back in full force, with eye-wateringly beautiful graphics. Why It Could Suck: So much has been done with the Halo campaigns that it doesn't really feel like there's much more left to do. Plus, much of the game's single-player success will hinge on how fans respond to Locke: if he is given too much precedent over Chief, then it's going to cause some upset. Plus, after the numerous technical issues with The Master Chief Collection's matchmaking, hopefully Halo 5 won't follow suit, because there's no easier way to lose those precious launch day sales than gimped online features. Why You'll Play It Anyway: Because it's Halo, and it's the first one on new-gen technology. As long as the multiplayer works (eventually), it'll be worth playing regardless of whether the campaign is actually any good.
