There's a good reason this ethnically fluid fighter with the cheese-slice mohawk has had a 15-year hiatus from the Street Fighter series. The guy clearly has a serious identity crisis, as his skin colour changed from white in the original Street Fighter to black in Street Fighter III - under the dubious premise that he was 'ill' in the first game. Hmm, okay... With his massive shoulder-pads, elf shoes and strange flat mohican that looks like a lethal weapon unto itself, Birdie was supposed to emulate British 70s punk, but just ended up looking like a perplexing mish-mash of leftover accessories from the Capcom design stockroom. Thankfully, Capcom have refreshed Birdie for Street Fighter V, giving him a bulging beer belly and formidable old-timey beard. The whole washed-up biker/punk look suits him well.
