Created as something of a game-oriented counterpoint to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there is no better time than now for the Battletoads to make the froggy leap to the silver screen. There are some pretty good hints that a new game is on the way, and the Turtles themselves are pretty hot again themselves - possibly the hottest they've been since their original run. As a result, it's the perfect time for Microsoft to jump on the bandwagon once again. That said, something like this could be live action, but with only two human characters (barring the guys who turn into the Battletoads) and landscapes consisting of alien worlds and spacecraft, going animated just seems to make more sense. Plus, the Battletoads' penchant for morphing their bodies into various tools, weapons, and machinery might work more easily with less explanation in animation, too.
