20 Awful Characters In Amazing Games

16. Kronika (Mortal Kombat 11)

Shang Tsung, Kano, Quan Chi, Goro, Shao Khan; it's safe to say that the Mortal Kombat series is about as good at creating legendary villains as it is at making your stomach churn with its brutal fatalities. Sadly, they can't all be winners, and the phenomenal Mortal Kombat 11, despite being one of the best titles in the series, really dropped the ball with Kronika.

This primordial titan is presented as an all-out antagonistic threat, as her power over timestreams and place in the cosmic hierarchy (higher even than the Elder Gods) gives her immense power not only in this game but across the whole series.

Unfortunately, her overall plan to "balance good and evil" makes very little sense, and she never feels like a big threat. Defeating her isn't even that difficult, as she clearly establishes that she can't directly defeat Raiden or Liu Kang. So, what's the point? Add some plot-hole-inducing time travel shenanigans, and you've got a recipe for confusion.

She's also, to put it plainly, bland as beige. Her design is sleek and muted, which makes her look positively dull among the MK11 line-up. This lacklustre design, paired with her boring personality, really makes this villain fall flat.
