20 Basic Video Game Skills That Are Secretly Broken
15. Hacking - Cyberpunk 2077
In a world as tech-dependent as that of Cyberpunk 2077, being able to hack things sounds like a pretty useful skill to have. However, when you get to use it at earlier levels, hacking doesn't seem to do much besides turning off some equipment and messing with your enemies a little.
It feels more like a parlor trick than an actual power, which is why some players might feel tempted to opt out of hacking in favor of visibly stronger abilities like gunfighting and melee combat.
If you do stick with hacking, however, later on you will realize that it is actually the most powerful skill in the game.
Although the early skills are nothing to talk about, the more you invest in hacking perks and skills, the deadlier they become. In particular, the Blackwall Gateway quickhack, which you unlock in the Phantom Liberty DLC, is easily the strongest ability in Cyberpunk, as it can instantly kill up to three enemies at once and can be activated from the safe distance of 20 meters.
By that point, winning fights is as easy as sitting on a nearby bench and blowing up your enemies' circuits one by one.
