Gaming history is littered with hoaxes and rumours about hidden content that players have to do certain things to find. When Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas released in 2004, one such hoax quickly circulated among the game's players and suggested that BigFoot was hidden within an area of the game.
Many a player tried hard to uncover the Sasquatch, and a few mods gave players a chance to insert their own grainy version of the phenomenon, but in truth the whole thing was a bizarre lie.
What was true, however, was the fact that Rockstar were keeping a close eye on this. Later, when GTA V took players back to Los Santos, Bigfoot did make an honorary appearance of sorts. In a final stranger mission, Franklin hunts down what turns out to be an in-game hoax and accidentally shoots a man dressed up as the beast. Well played, Rockstar.
