20 Clever Video Game Easter Eggs You Didn't Understand
8. Wait, What? How Did You Do That? - Halo 3
Halo 3 features a wide range of vehicles that you can drive around during missions. One of these machines is the M313 Elephant, a giant tank-like troop transport that is one of the heaviest objects in the game.
However, funnily enough, there is a way to tip it over. And if you’re smart enough to figure out how to do it, the game will reward you with a similarly clever easter egg.
On the map Sandtrap, when you gain access to the Elephant, you can try to gather a few fusion cores and then place them next to the vehicle. After the cores are in place, when you explode them, the force of the blow will be so great that it will actually manage to flip the elephant over.
At that point, when you walk up to the vehicle, the game will let you do the interaction to flip it back up, but since this was never supposed to happen, the button prompt for the action will state, "Hold B to flip… wait, what? How did you do that?”
It’s always fun when developers acknowledge the actions that players are never supposed to do on a regular playthrough. Especially when it’s done via a cheeky message like this.
