20 Clever Video Game Easter Eggs You Didn't Understand

5. Sympathetic Thief - Judgement

Judgement is the less popular spin-off of the Yakuza series that follows the story of a private investigator named Takayuki Yagami. In the game, you can sometimes be attacked by muggers who will attempt to take your money. Losing against these criminals will cause a humiliating animation to play where the men shake you up, steal your cash, and then leave you knocked out on the ground.

However, since the defeat results in losing yen, the game has a secret outcome to this fight that happens when you don’t have any money on you to steal.

If a thug defeats you and discovers you have empty pockets, instead of thrashing you further, he will help you up and brush you off.

The first time this animation triggers, you probably won’t realise what just happened, but when you connect the dots, it becomes clear that this is actually a pretty clever secret for a situation that most players won’t even find themselves in during their playthrough.
