20 Clever Video Game Easter Eggs You Didn't Understand

15. Emma's Trashed - Dead Island 2

It's not just graphically astounding zombie carnage where Dead Island 2 shows incredible attention to detail. While the game's gore is a technological marvel, the game is also pretty keen on adding small secrets for those clever enough to search for them. As best evidenced by Emma Jaunt's mansion.

Emma Jaunt is the Hollywood actress who tries to escape from zombified Los Angeles along with your character. Her mansion acts as a major hideout in the first couple of acts, where she lives along with her cleaning lady Andrea and several other survivors.

Aside from new faces, Emma's house stays mostly the same throughout the game. However, after Emma leaves the mansion in the final act and Andrea takes over, the old lady immediately boasts about how she's going to renovate it, starting with Emma's half-naked portrait on the wall.

Indeed, when you visit the mansion afterward, not only is the haughty painting missing, but if you search around, you can actually see it thrown next to the dumpsters near the mansion.

It's a small detail, but the fact that the painting doesn't just magically disappear from the mansion is a nice way to satisfy the curiosity of players who'd bother to think about story consistency.

It's not like Andrea can just pawn the painting off in a zombie apocalypse, after all.
