Whether it's fog-covered streets, decaying hospitals, or run-down apartment buildings, the Silent Hill series is overflowing with terrifying locations. One of the scariest is Midwich Elementary School, which appears in Team Silent's 1999 original.

Alongside being home to unexpected jump scares and the infamous piano puzzle, fans of 90s comedy Kindergarten Cop may also spot some familiar sights while exploring the school's eerie hallways. Eagle-eyed players have noticed that Midwich Elementary shares the same distinctive entrance and archway as Astoria Elementary, the school Arnold Schwarzenegger's character goes undercover in. The resemblances don't stop there. Both schools also share identical room layouts and even contain the exact same posters.

According to Mental Floss, this uncanny connection was a result of the developers drawing upon various pieces of American movies and TV shows for inspiration. Kindergarten Cop isn't the only location borrowed from popular media. Cafe5to2 is taken straight out of cult classic Natural Born Killers, and players can likewise find nods to Silence Of The Lambs, Psycho, and The Shining throughout the game.
