20 Hilarious Video Game Mechanics You Didn't Know Existed

6. Little Lacy Surprise - Grand Theft Auto IV

Grand Theft Auto IV was the first GTA game to feature a fully interactive in-game internet. Most players only use it to check their e-mail and use the in-game dating site, but if you dig deeper into this virtual-virtual space, you can find a lot more interesting stuff, like the news site that writes articles about your illicit activities in the city or websites hosted by some of Niko's friends.

There is also one very specific site that comes with a hilarious easter egg for interacting with it.

If you browse the ads on GTA IV's net or type in "littlelacysurprisepageant.com," you can visit a website that is supposedly promoting a beauty pageant for kids but is actually a police sting operation trying to catch deviants trying to look at photos of underage kids.

When you open the site, you are greeted by a message from the LCPD, telling you that the police have catalogued your IP and are about to send investigators after you.

Indeed, when you close the PC, you immediately receive a five-star wanted level, and as SWAT teams swarm the internet cafe, the police on the radio will refer to you as a sexual deviant.

The secret is hilarious, ridiculous, and exactly the type of detail that makes Rockstar games so enjoyable.
