20 Major Video Games You Forgot Were Happening

5. Cyberpunk 2

Remember Cyberpunk 2077? That absolutely huge open world first person game that had one of the bumpiest launches on record, before an insane redemption arc and some incredible DLC turned it into one of the best RPG's around?

What you may not remember is, it's getting a sequel. Developer CD Projekt RED has been incredibly busy of late, with numerous Witcher titles at various stages of development (more on that later), and amidst all the hustle and bustle, it's easy to forget Cyberpunk 2 is somewhere in the pipeline. When it was unveiled in October 2022, it was originally titled Project Orion, and had no screenshots or footage whatsoever to accompany it.

In 2025, the project officially moved into pre-production, and was renamed Cyberpunk 2, but 4 years on from its announcement, there's virtually nothing to show from the presumably massive sequel. However, by August 2026, over 150 developers were working on the game, showing that the elusive title is still very much at the forefront of CD Projekt RED's minds.
