20 Most Jaw-Dropping Games of 2012

16. Man on Fire: The Video Game (aka Max Payne 3)

Easily one of the most anticipated game of 2012, and Rockstar delivered €” mostly. There€™s still some gripes to be had with the story €” particularly a certain throwaway comment Max makes about the events of Max Payne 2 that the writers should be lashed for having the gall to include €” and those awful lens flare effects during the cut-scenes. Still, Max Payne 3 is a faithful successor to two timeless classics and is the apex of the series when it comes to action-packed, guns blazing gameplay. It€™s also an unabashedly difficult game, even on the easiest difficulty setting. That€™s a rare quality for a AAA game and I applaud the game for being so hard. I might have rage-quit a couple of times, but the sense of accomplishment I felt when I beat those sections was oh so satisfying. And that multiplayer isn€™t half bad, either.
